During 10-15 April, 2016, in the frame of Tempus MEDGEN project NGS (New Generation Sequencing) Bioinformatics training with a special focus on Intellectual Disability and Autism was organized and held at Yerevan State Medical University. The training was conducted by Peter Ulz from the Medical University of Graz, Austria and Dr. Zdenek Sedlacek, Dr. Miroslava Hancarova, Dr. Darina Prchalova and Dr. Pavel Tesner from the Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.

During 4-7 April, 2016, in the frame of Tempus MEDGEN project the training program on NGS (New Generation Sequencing) was organized and held at Tel-Aviv University. The training was conducted by Tommaso Pippucci and Pamela Magini form University of Bologna, Italy. The training consisted form lectures and workshops.

During 29 March - 1 April, 2016, in the frame of Tempus MEDGEN project the training program on NGS (New Generation Sequencing) was organized and held at the Center of Medical Genetics, Yerevan, Armenia for the specialists of Yerevan State Medical University. The training was conducted by Tommaso Pippucci and Pamela Magini form University of Bologna, Italy. The training consisted form lectures and workshops.

In February 2016, the ongoing Master Program of Genetic Counselling of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology was approved and licensed by the Technion and High Israeli Counsel

During 17-18 February, 2016, in the frame of Tempus MEDGEN project the training program was organized and held in Israel for the specialists of Technion University. Many specialists from other institutions and medical centers were also invited to the training. The training was conducted by Professor Heather Skirton and Specialists in Genetic Counseling Selina Goodman and Peter Lunt from Plymouth University, UK.

During 02-26 October, 2015, a training program was organized and held at the S. Orsola Hospital of the University of Bologna, Italy, for the specialists of Yerevan State Medical University, Tel-Aviv University, and Technion Institute of Technology of Israel. The training program was on how to manage and practice genetic counselling skills on patients with hereditary cancers, WES and bioinformatics.

During 19-23 October, 2015, a training program was organized and held at the Medical University of Graz and Biobank of Graz, Austria, for the specialists of Yerevan State Medical University. The training program was on genetic diagnostics routine processes and research in genetics.

During 2-6 November, 2015 a special training was organized and held at Charles University of Prague, Czech Republic for the specialists of Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi which was focused on practice in metabolic diseases, cytogenetic lab practice and e-learning platform developed in the host university

During 27-30 April and 20-24 July, 2015, two training programs were organized and held at the Plymouth University, UK, for the specialists of Yerevan State Medical University, Russian-Armenian University, Tel-Aviv University, and Technion Institute of Technology of Israel. Both training programs were mainly on how to learn and practice genetic counselling skills.

During 30 June – 2 July, 2015, a special training course on hereditary skin disorders was organized by the University Paris Descartes held at the Yerevan State Medical University, Armenia, for the specialists of the two Yerevan State Medical University and Russian-Armenian University.

On June 11 2015 the Israeli Society of Medical Genetics National Conference took place at the The Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine. This meeting served as an excellent platform for Israeli, Armenian and European TEMPUS MEDGEN partners to exchange knowledge and to advance ideas related to education in medical genetics.
