The main theme of the "National Day of Medical Genetics" organized by the Yerevan State Medical University n.a. Mkhitar Heratsi and Center of Medical Genetics and Primary Health Care of Armenia in the frame of the MedGen project was devoted to the application of clinical genetics in modern and modern medicine in daily practice of physicians and in education. The conference was focused on clinical issues related to genetic illnesses.

Experts from the MedGen European and Israeli partner universities were selected for presentation of genetic health problems in birth defects, pediatrics, cancer, skin, neurological, hearing vision and other diseases, molecular diagnosis of patients, and sensitivity to treatment. They were also focused on family genetic counseling and opportunities for the use of newest molecular-genetic technologies that would open a wide array of topics for accurate, early and prenatal diagnostics, complications and predictability, genetic risk in families.

This exclusive international event organized through MedGen project was an excellent platform to raise current issues of national significance related genetic health and medical genetic education between more than 200 different national stakeholders invited to the conference: students, physicians, state and university authorities, patients and patient organizations.
